Another profitable weekend last week with 5 wins from 7 on the Saturday. The value bets have returned 14 units in the last 2 weeks and the return on investment is back up to over 7% for the season. I’m very pleased with this return since Premier League matches are generally accurately priced and gaining an edge over every match on the whole is not easy.
It’s the potential title decider this Sunday with Liverpool and Man City going head to head. If City win you have to feel the title race is effectively over. You can’t deny that Liverpool have added some much needed excitement to the premier League this season though. The pace throughout their team in Sturridge, Suarez and Sterling makes for great viewing but ultimately I think City are too strong in defence and in midfield. I think backing City is the best bet this weekend. I would actually like to see the reds win the league but don’t quite believe they can pull it off.
I’ll be amazed if Cardiff can get anything out of their match away at Southampton. Ole Gunnar hasn’t had the impact the owners were hoping and they’ve gone backwards since McKay left. the saints won the reverse fixture 3-0 on Boxing day and a similar scoreline looks likely.
There’s always some decently priced away side who on their day can get a win against their opponents in my selections and Villa, Newcastle and Norwich all fit this criteria around the 3/1 mark. All are in poor form but Norwich are the more likely of the three to produce the goods in my opinion and they are away at Fulham.
West Ham, Swansea and Sunderland are all big prices that have a better chance than the odds suggest. We only need one shock here and we should be on for another profitable week.
Our value bets haven’t often been on the draw this season but both next Wednesday’s match are value based on my estimations, at the current prices. Palace should be able to make it tough for Everton who are excellent at home but goals are not easy for them to come by.
Sunderland are a bit of a bogey team for Man City. They are struggling at look doomed now but 8-1 is a huge price for a draw on any Premier League match. Get the bus parked!
Good luck with all your bets this weekend.
