Netherlands v Kazakhstan | Betting Preview

Date: Friday, October 10, 2014
Venue: Amsterdam Arena, Amsterdam, Netherlands
Kick off time: 19:45 BST

The Dutch will be looking to make the most out of Kazakhstan’s visit to the Amsterdam Arena on Friday as the duo go head to head in their Euro 2016 qualifier. New head coach of the Netherlands side, Gus Hiddink will have a full strength side to choose from as he looks for his first win with the national team after succeeding Louis Van Gaal to the top job.

Netherlands’ form: L-L-W-L-W

Netherlands have got off to a slow start to life under a new regime in terms of the coaching staff. The Oranje have recorded back to back defeats to Italy and Czech Republic in their last couple of games and that is something that they will like to put behind them as they go into this upcoming game.

The side do not need to look too far for inspiration though after having finished the FIFA World Cup earlier this year as the third placed side. Netherlands beat Brazil 3-0 in that match as they rode goals from some of their most important players in the tournament.

Kazakhstan’s form: D-W-W-L-D

Kazakhstan are coming into this game on the backs of some decent form.

While they drew a stalemate against Latvia in their last game, Kazakhstan beat Kyrgyzstan by a massive 7-1 on September 5. They had also beaten Tajikistan 2-1 in August this year after having gone down to Hungary on June 7 and drawn against Lithuania 1-1 in March.

Key Players

Netherlands: Robin Van Persie

Van Persie has found form for club Manchester United in the past three weeks. The skipper has been in fine goalscoring form off late. Although he has slowed down a tad bit, the Flying Dutchman remains a big threat with his finishing and overall attacking work rate.

Kazakhstan: Sergei Khizhnichenko

The 23 year old attacker had scored a brace against Kyrgyzstan and he will be looking to inflict some damage to what has appeared to be a fragile Dutch defence off late.

Betting Advice

A first win for Gus Hiddink is very much on the cards as we head into this Euro qualifier and van Persie, who has been showing a bit of form in recent times, starts at 1.33 with bet365 to be an anytime scorer. BetVictor offer 1.6 for more than 3.5 goals to be scored in the game which looks a decent price.
