Kilmarnock v Dundee United | Betting Preview

Date: October 3, 2014
Venue: Rugby Park, Kilmarnock, Scotland
Kick-off time: 19:45 BST

Kilmarnock have had the most successful start of their season in past few years having 14 points after eight games in the League. They welcome table toppers, Dundee United in a clash where Kilmarnock can close the gap on Dundee.

Dundee, on the other hand, stopped the domination of St. Johnstone over them. Another ghost of the past vanquished.

Kilmarnock form: L-W-D-L-W

Kilmarnock humiliated Partick Thistle at home, going on level with Celtic. With some excellent midfield performances by Kilmarnock players and industrious work rate on display, manager Allan Johnston was all praises for the players.

Kilmarnock has improved a lot this season and mostly, is due to the expansive style of play that is rare in the Scottish Premiership.

Dundee United form: W-D-W-W-W

Dundee are on an unbeaten five game streak, which includes four wins. Dundee United have taken the Premiership by storm this season and with established teams like Celtic and Aberdeen still struggling for form, Dundee have made most of the situation.

Even with a hectic schedule, they managed to churn out some good victories. A further testament to the kind of work the manager is doing.

Key Players

Kilmarnock: Alexei Eremenko

The Russian midfielder struggled for form early in the season, but with few matches under the belt, he’s showing his potential. Against Partick Thistle, his passing was top notch along with the link up and positional play. If he continues the form shown against Partick, there’s a possibility that Johnston’s team might be dark horses in Premiership.

Dundee United: Jaroslaw Fojut

Along with Callum Morris, the centre back has impressed in the Premiership making the pair the most feared of the central defensive pairings in the Premiership. Fojut has two goals to his names too and against the free flowing Kilmarnock side he has more responsibility to shore up the defence.

Betting Advice

This game is likely to be an intense battle, with many in-form players for both side. Kilmarnock to win the game by a goal is a good bet – with BetVictor offering 3.5 for their win. A 2-1 win for the visitors is at an exciting price of 12.0 (11/1) and that’s where my money will be.
