Danish Superliga runners-up Copenhagen meet Ukrainian Premier League runners-up Dnipro Dniprotevosk tomorrow in the Champions League. Neither side appears to have an advantage going into this game as the first leg ended 0-0.

However, Dnipro could be distracted by the situation in Ukraine, and that their fans attacked Copenhagen fans at the start of the second half last week. Hopefully, no situation like that arises in Denmark this Wednesday.

Copenhagen’s Recent Form

Kobenhavn’s form has been steady without being spectacular so far this season, as they have picked up five out of 9 points possible in the Danish Superliga. However, they’ve only won one of their last seven games in all competitions (including friendlies).

Dnipro’s Recent Form

Dnipro’s form is much better, as they have yet to lose a game so far this season and have picked up six out of six points in the Ukrainian premier league. What will help them is that if they score an away goal, it will necessitate their opponents to score two in order to qualify.

Key players

FC Copenhagen: Per Nilsson

It will be up to the likes of Copenhagen’s 31 year-old vice-captain to stem the flow of Dnipro’s attack. He needs to marshal his defense in order to deal with the likes of Konaplyanko and Kalinic.

Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk: Yevhen Konaplyanka

Dnipro’s number 10 Yevhen Konaplyanka has been linked with many big clubs both this summer and last, but now the focus turns to his performance for Dnipro in the Champions league. It will likely be up to the technically solid midfielder to break down Copenhagen’s defense.

Betting Advice

While the situation in Ukraine may be distracting, and while Copenhagen are playing at home, I still think Dnipro will win. They currently are in the middle of an outstanding run, and their forward lines will be too much for Copenhagen too handle.

Look at a one-niler here for Dnipro (2.55 at Boylesports). Also look at Boylesports’ excellent offer of 1.66 for less than 2.5 goals to be scored in this game.
