Date: October 14, 2014
Venue: Torsvollur, Torshavn, Faroe Islands.
Kick off time: 19:45 hrs BST.
Faroe Islands will take on Hungary on 14th October 2014 in a third round match in group F of Euro 2016 qualifier to be played at the tiny 6, 040 all seater Torsvollur stadium, Torshavan, Faroe Islands from 1945 BST.
Faroe Islands form: L-L-W-L-L
Faroe Islands played a very good second half away at Northern Ireland in the last set of matches. This will give them a lot of confidence going into the home game against Hungary. They would like to repeat that with the first half that they played in their first home match against Finland. They went into the break leading 1-0 in that one.
Hungary form: D-W-W-L-D
Hungary are yet to win a match in this qualifying campaign. With a loss and a draw this seems to be what the doctor ordered for them to register their first win of this qualification campaign. Along with it they would want to win with a margin to have a positive goal difference.
Faroe Islands: Christian Holst.
Faroe Islands will look for inspiration from their 32 year old midfielder and top goal scorer from the current lot. With a nervy Hungary side he would like to put them under pressure with a fast start and hold on to an early lead.
Hungary: Tamas Priskin.
Tamas Priskin is a prolific striker both for club and his country. Against a week opposition he would like to make merry and notch up a goal or two. With a sizeable lead, there will be no way back for Faroe Islands.
Given Faroe Islands’ poor record in international football, it is not surprise that Hungary are overwhelming favourites to win this with BetVictor offering 1.36 for that result. If you want to really gamble on the result, then BetVictor is also offering 6.0 for a drawn match, while over 3.5 goals in the game is at 3.0.
