Belarus will take on Slovakia on 12th October 2014 in a third round match in group C of Euro 2016 qualifier to be played at Borisov Arena, Barysaw, Belarus from 1945 BST.
Belarus form: D-W-W-D-L
Belarus was in decent form coming into the qualifiers but unfortunately they have not been able to win any matches in them so far with a draw and a loss. With them yet to play the world number one Spain home and away it is imperative that they start winning matches, especially at home.
Slovakia form: W-L-W-W-W
Slovakia is going through some sort of a renaissance in their national team performances. Having beaten the current holders Spain they will go all guns blazing into this match. With a string of good performances they are in the driving seat to go through from this group.
Belarus: Sergei Kornilenko.
Sergei Kornilenko, the thirty one year old veteran striker is Belarus’ second in all time scores list. He will have to go all full throttle to disrupt a very well-oiled Slovakian team in general and defence in particular. Slovakia has conceded only two goals in their last five matches so he better wears his scoring boots to this game.
Slovakia: Marek Hamsik.
The dual captain of his national side as well as his club Napoli in Serie A this attacking midfielder pulls all the strings for his team going forward. Very experienced both for club and country his sparkling form has benefitted both the teams he represents. If he gets going it will be much easier to grab all three points for Slovakia.
An away win is the more likely result seeing the form and the personnel representing both sides.
There is also a possibility that Slovakia (2.4 with BetVictor) might have peaked too soon in a qualification league that has not even completed its quarter mark; so a draw (3.2 with bet365) is also not completely out of the equation. Predicting this to be a low-scoring encounter with under 2.5 goals in the game (1.57 at bet365)
