Tip Reasons
- The top six is within the grasp of Dundee and all they have to is beat Hamilton Accies to achieve it.
- While they haven’t been losing many The Dee haven’t been winning consistently either grabbing maximum points in just two of their last ten league games. They have lost just two in that time too and are undoubtedly the Scottish Premiership draw kings with fourteen from their thirty-two matches.
- Luckily for them Hamilton Academical are in a terrible rut of home form being winless since the beginning of October (twelve matches). Their performance in the first half of last Sunday’s match at Aberdeen was abysmal and points to real problems in the camp.
- They should certainly fear Dundee with the head to head games showing a 4-0 mauling the last time the sides met. Kane Hemmings scored a hattrick that day with Greig Stewart getting the other one. Both players are in remarkably good form of late and could be the difference between the sides.
- Martin Canning will have to make a big decision on his defensive formation after the three at the back looked lost at Aberdeen. My guess is he will try and shut Dundee down with five designated defenders given little leeway to get forward.
- Any points will do right now for Hamilton and if that means trying to stifle the attacking threat of Dundee then so be it. Whether his plans come together or not is another thing entirely.
- Backing Dundee with Draw No Bet insurance could be the way to go at 1.8 (4/5) with 888Sport. You can get a slightly better price by backing them 0.0 Asian Handicap at 1.83 (5/6) with the same firm.
