  • Dundee have no problem getting goals and you can expect them to keep at it on Saturday afternoon.
  • Should they score against Aberdeen on Saturday they’ll have scored in all but two of their eighteen games this season. Their blanks came away to Celtic and Saturday’s opponents, Aberdeen.
  • It’s little wonder they are so clinical with Stewart, Hemmings and Loy in attack. With seventeen league goals between them it’s pretty much guaranteed that one of the three will score in every game they play.
  • The Dark Blues do have a problem though, at the other end. Clean sheets have been as rare as blanks with the last one coming away to Partick Thistle in September. One of only two they have managed all season.
  • It’s a problem in that they have to score at least two to win games, a feat they have only managed once since that 0-1 win at Firhill. Score draws have been their staple with nine of them in their sixteen league games to date.
  • The Dons will likely encounter the same problem. They have managed a solitary clean sheet in their last ten games and just three of their eleven away games all season.
  • One loss in five has seen them halt the stumbling form that followed the defeat to Hibernian in the League Cup. But they are still conceding goals and against an attack as sharp as Dundee’s they are likely to do so again.
  • With both sides likely to concede backing either on the WDW markets is fraught with danger. Aberdeen are best priced at even money with Skybet and Coral. Dundee, even at a high of 3/1 with Ladbrokes and Boylesports, are hard to back.
  • It would be much more prudent to back your preferred side to score +1.5 team goals, a target they are likely going to need and that won’t even guarantee them a victory.
  • The Dons are a better price at 2.1(11/10) with Coral and William Hill. Dundee are a little shorter than their win price at a best 3.6(11/5) with Ladbrokes.
  • For me both teams to score has an excellent chance and at a price of 1.93 with 888Sport is worth taking a shot at. It has come in eight games running and all seven home games for Dundee this season.
  • Total goals backers can get +2.5 at 2.05(21/20) with bet365, McBookie, Boylesports, Betfair and William Hill.
  • With five of Dundee’s last six games finishing 1-1 I know which of those bets I prefer.
