  • This Scottish League One match was postponed twice due to a waterlogged pitch.
  • Since then the rain hasn’t eased off any so whether the grounds staff can pull off a miracle on Tuesday evening is debatable.
  • Should the game go ahead it looks pretty certain that it will be played in poor conditions. There is plenty of rain forecast for Coatbridge on Monday and Tuesday and the pitch will undoubtedly be very heavy.
  • Heavy pitches tend to have a drastic affect on football matches. An inability to pass the ball soundly and the ball getting stuck in muddy patches and surface water tends to lead to a lack of goals.
  • Rovers tend not to see many goals anyway with just one of their last seven games seeing three or more goals. The Blue Brazil are from a different mould of course but even one of their last two games was goalless.
  • One thing the rain can do is even teams out. Not that these teams are that far apart anyway. A win for The Blue Brazil would take them to within two points of Albion and the promotion playoffs.
  • Given their recent form a win for Cowdenbeath would be far from remarkable and given their price it’s very backable.
  • Cowdenbeath are as high as 4/1 with William Hill to win the game outright. You can back them to score +1.5 goals at 3.35 (49/20). With Albion not being the most goal laden of sides that to me would go close to being a winning goals tally.
  • Therefore the 4/1 with William Hill is much more appealing.
  • On the goals markets the unders are also shortening, now best priced with McBookie and bet365 at 2.05(21/20) for under 2.5 match goals.
  • If you fancy +2.5 goals you can get 1.78(39/50) with bet365.
  • EDIT: Missed the 4/1 price by about 4 minutes. Instead going to plump with Draw No Bet @ 3.1(21/10) with Ladbrokes.
