The Europa League Group I fixture between Sparta Prague and Napoli will bring some bitter memories for Prague, where they were defeated by Napoli (3-1). Much has changed since and now both the teams are tied with nine points to their name.
Napoli has slipped a few times against the lesser teams in the group and Prague will get some confidence from this fact.
Sparta Prague form: L-W-W-D-W
Sparta Prague has won every game after their opening day defeat against Napoli in the Europa League. Not only have they won the games, but also they have won them emphatically. A 3-1 win against Young Boys and 3-0, 4-0 win against Bratislava will state their attacking power.
Sparta is a good attacking side and will look to find chinks in the not so good Napoli defence.
Napoli form: W-W-W-L-W
Napoli are currently placed third in the Serie A, but is nine points off the league leaders Juventus. Their domestic form has wavered a lot and Coach Rafael Benitez will be looking to bring some stability to his side.
Napoli’s defence has not been that stable too, their last domestic game against Cagliari left some questions for Benitez. Having lost Lorenzo Insigne to injury has increased Benitez’s headaches in the attacking department too.
Sparta Prague: Borek Dockal
The Czech born midfielder has provided some beautiful assists and scored some goals this campaign. Along with Captain David Lafata, the 26 year old has been the team’s major source of goals. Entering his prime, Dockal will only get better and against Napoli, he might be the main man.
Napoli: Dries Mertens
The Belgian winger has yet to find form and settle down in Italy. His marauding runs and intelligent cutbacks are a feature of his game, but Italian league seems to have caused his confidence suffer due to the more defensive setup of teams.
After Insigne’s injury, he has a chance to step-up and shine.
Sparta Prague should be full of confidence after rattling in ten goals in their last three Europa League matches and are definitely the value selection in this one.
Sparta start off at 3.0 with BetVictor while Napoli look a tad short at 2.15 to overcome their in form opponents.
