New tip of the day methodology working wonders

I’m sure it won’t have escaped your attention that the performance of the BettingTools tip of the day has improved dramatically this month. With just one day to go the overall profit stands at £447.90 units to £10 stakes and we’ve seen it produce 12 winners at an average price of around 5/1 . That’s a strike rate of 41.4%!

Prior to this the tip of the day just contained what we believed to be the most likely winner on any given day but were treading water with this approach. We’ve tried a number of different methods in the past from the most tipped horse on the board, to attempting to single out the best tip on the site. None of these seemed to work.

The method we have chosen to use in January and that has served us so well focuses on a few things. Firstly it looks at the tips posted by our very best tipsters on the site (3, 4 and 5 star tipsters) particularly horses backed by multiple tipsters. It also looks at the horses picked out by who we believe to be a few of the best tipsters on the web and finally it looks at how much money has been matched for any selections that look like they could be an excellent choice for tip of the day.

This new system has helped us find 7/1, 10/1 and 17/1 winners as well as 9 others at decent prices.

We’re not sure whether this feature will continue in quite the same vein, and let’s face it an ROI of 154% is pretty ludicrous to expect in the long-term. We are however confident that we have finally found a way of obtaining excellent value for our chosen tip of the day.

It does look as though it will clear a 15 points monthly profit (not saying average)and really good months like this one so it looks like you can sack Brian Ranieri and keep this method.

Haha, yup. Like I said my horse racing profile will be binned too if February is not fruitful!

Templegate uses a [Nap, (nb) and treble] this format might be worth considering for this selection method.
*(only use the three options if the strength of the available tips suggest this)

Think of the bragging rights for a decent treble. (at least trial it in the Forum area)

A description of the daily reasoning would be entertaining and add to the fun. (go private when looks a cast iron moneymaker)

Good idea Dynamite. I will try and implement this ready for the start of the new month tomorrow and we can see how they fare.

Not exactly what i had in mind.
Because it’s undoubtedly difficult to isolate just one selection as the TIP OF THE DAY, i thought the option of a three pronged “broader brush” attack would solve this. (within one profile) Therefore highlightly the best of the best on BettingTools, with the prospect of a large multiple bet win.

Now it’s three strangers, rather confusing without a concerted approach or appeal.

    hey ho

Well, feel free to give what you had in mind a go either on the board or in the forum, D21.

    “(within one profile)”

    1. NAP
    2. (nb)
    3. treble (just start the reasoning with this title)

Yes, they may be better in one profile but I don’t want to mess up how well the NAP is working. If, after February, the NB and treble are adding value then I will consider putting them in one profile with just one alert triggered for them.
