Venue: Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, Madrid, Spain
Kick-off time: 20:00 BST
The midweek fixture in La Liga will see two of the lesser performing teams in Getafe and Cordoba. Getafe’s season, marred by inconsistent performances and with a string of successive losses in the past few matches, has left them in the bottom half of the table.
Cordoba are bottom of the table with no wins and will be desperate to get one, at least.
Getafe form: D-L-L-L-W
Last game against Malaga was winnable, but Getafe did not make themselves any favour by conceding cheaply against fellow strugglers. Malaga was under control of the match for most part and Getafe players were not able to create any meaningful chances.
Getafe’s inability to create goal-scoring chances has hurt them this season and if they are to improve, this is the area where it is needed the most.
Cordoba form: D-D-L-L-D
Cordoba’s poor form continues as they languish at the bottom of the La Liga. Cordoba’s defensive performance against the bottom half of the teams are impressive but like all the lesser teams, they have problems in offence.
Against Espanyol, they created a few chances with them having the upper hand in the proceedings. Still Cordoba could not break the deadlock.
Getafe: Vincente Guaita
The Spanish keeper has been the decent for the Getafe side and his shot stopping ability is a real asset to the team. Against Cordoba, there’ll be more of defensive work for him to do. Cordoba’s midfield has been unlucky at times, but they still have the ability to work the keeper.
Cordoba: Fausto Rossi
The classy Italian midfielder has started all the games for Cordoba and had a few decent performances only to be let down by his forwards and fellow midfielders. His vision and passing range are better than any midfield on Cordoba’s roaster. Against an equally decent Getafe midfield he can wish for a good game.
Another draw could be on the cards for the strugglers considering there’s no gulf in the respective team quality – ether that or a very close win for the hosts. Getafe are 2.0 (bet365) to win this while a draw is best priced at 3.3 with BetVictor and looks the better value selection.
