Holy Grail Selections 28th Feb

Holy Grail Selections 28th Feb

Here are this weekend’s selections. These have already been sent to confirmed Holy Grail followers and after getting a lot of interest already, this may be the last time we post these on the blog. So contact us asap if you still want to be considered to receive these.

Selection Odds Stake
Arsenal vs EVERTON 6.6 £93.70 (0.96%)
West Ham vs CRYSTAL PALACE 3.9 £89.22 (0.92%)
Bournemouth vs BLACKBURN 5 £84.56 (0.87%)
CARDIFF vs Wolves 2.8 £122.95 (1.26%)
Rotherham vs MILLWALL 3.5 £113.74 (1.17%)
SHEFFIELD WEDS vs Middlesboro 3.85 £81.43 (0.84%)
Chesterfield vs FLEETWOOD TOWN 3.85 £132.97 (1.37%)
ALTRINCHAM vs Barnet 3.8 £220.98 (2.27%)
Grimsby vs BRAINTREE TOWN 6.2 £95.77 (0.98%)
TELFORD UNITED vs Alfreton Town 2.32 £86.39 (0.89%)

At first glance a pretty disastrous mid week for the Holy Grail. all 6 matches on Tues were losses but it was the manner of defeats and how quickly the goals came against the selections which made it particularly difficult to take. I think 5 out of the 6 teams lost by 2 goals or more. Thankfully this doesn’t happen often and the bookies themselves also took a hit. It’s always a good sign when your bottom correlates with that of the bookies because, they don’t lose too often and they keep in business for a reason!

Forest continued their good form and beat a Bournemouth side whom seem to have hit a bad patch on Wednesday and covered the best part of 2 of Tuesday’s losses. This meant that we only had 4 matches worth of losses in monetary terms and it doesn’t look half as bad. On any given Saturday where there are nearly 3 times as many bets we’d easily see 4 losses but they’d be covered and more by the few big winners because of the value in the prices.

This just illustrates how important it is to look at the big picture. Us humans are emotional creatures and going to bed on a Tues evening in a bad mood is understandable but the overall profits (+£3,428.40) are still handsome and the ROI (10.4%) is still very healthy! You don’t know which order the wins and losses will come and how streaky either will be, even when you have a good system with an edge. This is why you need to follow a system long term and not dip in and out of it. You also need to keep stakes low and not get over excited at big wins or big losses and the rest will take care of itself.

This is the profit/loss from the midweek matches:

Selection Odds Stake Kelly % P/L
Brentford vs BLACKPOOL 8 109.67 1.03% -109.67
MILLWALL vs Sheffield Weds 2.88 151.54 1.43% -151.54
NOTTM FOREST vs Bournemouth 3.15 78.09 0.73% 167.89
Watford vs ROTHERHAM 5.5 137.91 1.30% -137.91
Wolves vs FULHAM 4.9 110.22 1.04% -110.22
DONCASTER vs Bristol City 2.96 161.82 1.52% -161.82
ROCHDALE vs Sheffield United 3.4 122.25 1.15% -122.25
-625.517

Good luck all.

HG Selections 24/25th Feb

HG Selections 24/25th Feb

A quiet weekend for the Holy Grail and Bet Monkey followers with a small loss recorded for both. The bottom line for this weekend all hinged on the Coventry match and we’re still seething that they didn’t hang on to a 2-0 lead against 10 men!

That’s value betting for you though folks and when it goes in our favour it does and some! To almost have broken even with just 3 wins from 12 is very pleasing and shows we were clearly on the right side of the prices.

Here are the HG results from the weekend:

Selection Odds Stake Profit/Loss
CRYSTAL PALACE vs Arsenal 5 221.15 -221.15
Hull vs QPR 4.2 114.23 -114.23
SWANSEA vs Man Utd 4.2 136.30 436.16
TOTTENHAM vs West Ham 1.83 181.49 -181.49
Wolves vs ROTHERHAM 4.1 136.23 -136.23
COLCHESTER vs Bristol City 4.2 109.94 351.81
Sheffield Utd vs COVENTRY 6 203.06 -203.06
YEOVIL vs Gillinhgham 2.24 99.54 -99.54
Northampton vs YORK 3.55 110.76 -110.76
Barnet vs GRIMSBY 3.25 179.72 404.37

Only a tiny proportion of the visitors to the site are currently contributing and sharing what we’re doing on the site and we need your help please! With traffic on the up, the server and running costs are increasing and it’s becoming a struggle to keep up with the prize money too.

I’d like to be able to reward our tipsters more for their excellent work and increase prize money but it’s not possible at the moment. Whilst it is enjoyable, I personally put in a lot of time and effort to keep the site running smoothly and to add new stuff which I’m sure you appreciate.

We may have to look at making the site as a whole available to tipsters and regular contributors only. This would reduce traffic but keep the server costs etc. down at least. Or we could charge a small fee to become a member and to keep receiving tip alerts maybe. Obviously we don’t want to have to do either of those though and if we can get traffic to significantly increase we can charge more for advertising to cover all the costs.

We’ll be looking at the best way to proceed over the next couple of weeks but if you like the site and you want it to remain open and free you can help by:

1) Commenting regularly, thanking tipsters and posting on the forum

2) Posting links to our site on other sites you use or own

3) Following us on twitter and liking us on facebook

4) Creating new accounts with bookmakers from this page particularly Bet365 who will give you up to £200 in bonuses.

Thanks for your help!

Holy Grail Selections – Feb 21st

Holy Grail Selections – Feb 21st

Thanks very much to all those that got in touch expressing their interest in the Holy Grail and for your kind words. We’ve sent these people a Q and A detailing more information about how the system works and future plans which I’m sure you all appreciated.

We’re still not sure how the emails will work and whether we’ll send to all Bet Monkey followers or a select few. So if you haven’t yet expressed your interest and you want full selections by email, it would be a good idea to contact us.

The mid-week results yielded a small profit. We actually only had one win from four and backing level stakes returned a small loss but such is the beauty of our Kelly Staking system we still returned a profit. The biggest bet being almost double the other 3 on Mansfield to beat Luton which was a winner.

We’re hoping that the good form will continue this weekend but remember that anything can happen on one weekend so keep your stakes sensible and the goal of long term profits in mind!

Here are this weekends selections including the Kelly % stakes which can be applied to your own betting banks:
